Introduction to mediSACHe
In 2002, HPS Pharmacies introduced a new innovative concept in medication administration system packaging - mediSACHe. The mediSACHe system provides a new level of sophistication in medication management.
Easy to use and administer
Each mediSACHe can include the resident's name, medication, tablet identifier and administration time, printed directly on the package. Generic drug names and clear tablet descriptions reduce confusion and make the mediSACHe system useable for all nursing / caring staff or even the residents themselves. The tamper-evident packages can be safely stored until you're ready for medication rounds.
Saves time and labour
You have a photo to identify the resident; the medications are available in the correct amounts, sequenced by administration time, when you need them. If needed the drugs can be crushed within the mediSACHe.

mediSACHe Trolley
The mediSACHe system is a revolutionary approach to advancing the administration of medication management in the aged and disability settings to a new sophisticated level. Medications are produced in sequentially marked sachets, with detailed labelling which identifies the resident, time, date packed, expiry date and medications are generically identified with specific tablet identifying descriptions.
The mediSACHe system is time saving, light to transport, environmentally friendly and designed with information technology to save nursing/caring time in the management of the total medication administration process. In fact, trials have been completed within a thirty bed high care aged care facility which previously used a traditional tamper-proof style multi-dose system and they have found that the mediSACHe system has saved approximately thirty - forty minutes on the morning medication round! The system also offers added flexibility for people leaving the facility for any length of time - the relevant sachets can simply be sent with the person, whilst leaving the remaining week's sachets at the facility.
To complement the OH&S focus and flexibility of the mediSACHe system, HPS Pharmacies has developed a light-weight medication trolley which is as adaptable and light-weight as the rest of the system. The medication trolley features:-
- A pneumatically adjustable side arm - strong enough to use for crushing of medications and adaptable for the varying heights of nursing/caring staff.
- Strong, sturdy stainless steel frame- aesthetically attractive, versatile and light-weight (generally 20kg lighter than other drug trolleys currently on the market).
- Ergonomically designed handle, designed to allow for the differing heights of nursing/caring staff and to encourage correct pushing techniques.
- Polyurethane wheels - minimal floor contact for easy glide, all damageable parts such as ball bearings etc are encased to avoid the collection of carpet bits, dust and promote longevity of the easy glide.
- Anti-tilt locking mechanism - only one drawer at a time opens and on closing, drawers automatically lock to protect intrusion from unauthorised people.
